Somatic exercises or body awareness exercises are a way simply heighten the communication between mind and body. We taken our bodies for granted but as Actors we do not have this luxury. Our bodies are the instrument through which our music that effects an audience is delivered. If we are to inhabit the life of another person we must be sensitive enough to “feel” the body of that life.
The dreamwork offers an approach to character development and personal evolution through a focus on the inner world of dreams. Dreams are the root of our unconscious mind, delivering rich messages, guidance and awareness. Through this class you will explore ways to invite dreams, understand the stories, the messages within and ultimately, how to incorporate their guidance into everyday life and the development of character.
Breath is literally our life source. We cannot live minutes without it. It carries the resonance of our sound. It is the mechanism through which life, feeling and expression are carried in and out of us. We can enable and deepen our connection and understanding of all three through focused breath work. It is often the doorway to change.
