In Person

Los angeles, march 10th - 15th
Our responsibility is to create experiences that awaken awareness, acceptance, or challenge injustices and inequalities, hoping to evolve, to heal and sometimes to forgive. It is our calling and we have answered, maybe because somewhere deep within us, we believe we have that to give.
Actors, directors and playwrights, your challenge should you accept, is to write, cast, rehearse and mount a play for a live audience in one week.
This one-week workshop will be intense, challenging you to bring your talent, effort, intuition, experience and pure will power to the creative calling you have each chosen to dedicate yourselves.
The first two days will be focused on conceptualizing, developing, and writing a short play. There will be three categories: 2-person, 3-person, or 4-person. The plays must come from a real-life experience of those on your team and can be developed into any genre. The writing will be handled by the playwright, but they will be guided by the actors and director in a workshop environment.
The second two days will be focused on rehearsing and directing with the playwright active in re-writes and adjustments that will arise from the improvising and exploration of the play. The director will deliver a vision for the play and craft the story with an original voice. The play may require staging and choreography during these two days. The actors will have to embody character, get off-book, and take direction, all with grace and authenticity.
The final day will be dedicated to the set design, light design, a tech run, and final touch-ups before the curtains rise to a live audience that night. There will be two performances. One Friday night and one on Saturday. You MUST be available for both performances.
Let’s do what we do and bring them to their knees.
