“Your person is your wound tickler..”

in person

with John Markland

January 7th - february 25th

A soul mate, my person, partner, better half, my significant other, my lover, my rock etc. etc. They are also the primary reflection of your adult self… and so reflect that which is yet an adult. Ouch! But necessary if we are to continue to grow and evolve, for self-awareness is the Yin and external “true” perception the Yang. The catch here is that “true”. We hope that with the love comes the compassion of non judgment, but it may be built upon certain frailties and insecurities built in. So, the game is on.

The reflection and challenge of a partner is intense but offers/allows for the deepest sense of trust, passion, vulnerability, and acceptance. So, it’s all heaven. No. You must pass through your own purgatory. Some may feel their partner has been put on earth to torture them, perhaps in a few cases, but in reality, we tend to align with those who will test our deepest triggering places in order for us to accept and heal what wounds we carry. Your person is your wound tickler.

Understanding your attachment style offers some clarity in what may cause you to feel threatened, abandoned, defensive, aggressive, dissociative, violent, panicked, apathetic, self-punishing, etc. The four main attachment styles, secure (confident), anxious preoccupied), avoidant (dismissive) and disorganized (fearful-avoidant) all offer a great insight into who we are and where we came from – childhood. We can no longer go back and change the primary caregiver’s attachment style, so we now must do it with the partner we chose today.

Awareness does not equal acceptance. Acceptance does not equal transformation. But with a true want to change, it will. This class will dive off the cliff, headfirst, eyes open, into the deep lagoon of soul mate love. We will get to play both sides of the relationship in both personal scenes and assigned scenes. We will get to try different attachment styles and hopefully get a taste of the other side

Register early because there is prep-work and scene work.
Tuesday Nights at 7 p.m.
