The fear of death is a relationship that changes over the course of a life, but it is ever present, until it is not. The unknown is at the heart of it and loss surrounds it. One day we will come face to face with letting go of things, of roles we play, people we love, places we are attached to, dreams not yet attained and ultimately, we will have to let go of ourselves.

Death is in all regards, a stage of life, as is birth, puberty, adulthood, and old age. And yet, death is the one closest to us, the one we sense about us, the one we see other’s fearing, some running from and a few running toward. Is it an end? No one alive can answer that. Deepen your intimacy with and acceptance of and death becomes a motivation, an inspiration and something to not be feared, but celebrated.

This class will be a journey deep into the intimacies of death. You may not even be aware how metastasized your fear of death is. You may believe you don’t think about it, or you don’t fear it. And if this is the case then you will be living your life with limitless courage and abandon. The deeper your relationship with death and the more complete the acceptance of it becomes, the freer and more inspired you feel.

We will explore death and our relationship to it through scene work, deep visualization, guided mediation, reflection work, journaling, and somatic ritualization. This class is a spiritual journey, confronting truths and fears you may have regarding death, it will release what you may not even realize you are gripping so tightly.
