Trust is the heart of the actor. The element on which all else relies. The ability to take risk, the belief you can or will, the strength to expose and be vulnerable, the openness and connection to your partner, the will to endure and fight, the composure to be present, the faith to step when there is no path… all rely on trust. The primal and fundamental form being trust in self. I trust myself. This is the core, the power that pumps blood to the rest.
We all know the doubt, noise, anxiety, helplessness, fear, nerves, lying, voices, judgment, dysmorphia, hiding, abuse, vices, apathy, and rabbit holes that swallow days, weeks and even years, if we are without trust. Our conscious brain blares criticism and cynicism and offers all the stories to support why we can’t or won’t succeed. But then something happens that sparks a trust in yourself, in your ability, in your talent and you pray that it lasts, or at least is the last to leave.
This workshop will give you a hands-on-approach to building trust. A trust that is real. A trust you can design and strengthen. You will gain a crystal-clear understanding of what trust ACTUALLY is, where it was born, the journey that has shaped it and the relationship you TRULY have with it. It’s not an elusive quality that you pretend to have or secretly dream of gaining. It is an innate part of who you are and how you live. The truer your trust the more authentic you become.
We will be doing some life detective work, looking back at some of the experiences, moments, and relationships where trust and your connection to it was formed. We will be doing exercises and rituals to break the false beliefs attached to broken trust and others that reconnect through doubts and insecurities to heathy trust. We will do character development and scenes in ways that would ordinarily terrify you out of your skin but with this work will seem like an exciting challenge.
